Earthquake update:

Everything is OK in Myoko!

We're sure that many of you were concerned about the New Year's Day earthquake centered on the Noto Peninsula in nearby Ishikawa Prefecture. We did have a pretty good shake here in Myoko, but there was almost no damage at all (mostly things like books falling off shelves), and no injuries. There have been some minor aftershocks, but again, causing no damage and most often hardly felt at all. So there's no reason not to come and join us in Myoko — especially now that the snow is building up very nicely on the hill!

First snowfall in Myoko
In recent years, Myoko has taken its rightful place as one of the great snow destinations of the world. The area boasts some of the highest snowfall anywhere—some 19 meters every season—in a beautiful setting at the base of Mt. Myoko. The town has been welcoming guests for more than 200 years, first for the onsen, or natural hot springs, fed from sources up on the mountain, and in recent years for the great skiing found here.

We’re here to help you have the best possible vacation in this great destination! We’re local; we know the people and the facilities—and we’re here to share this knowledge wth you.
